Two of BC’s finest classical guitarists and teachers Simon Farintosh from the University of Victoria and Alec Pearson from UBC and Vancouver Academy of Music invite you a shared recital they are presenting on May 1st, at 7 pm at the Vancouver Academy of Music.
The Vancouver Classic Guitar Society and the Vancouver Public Library invite you to the final Staircase Sounds concert of the season, featuring three of Canada’s - and BC’s - most talented classical guitarists, Adrian Verdejo, Michael Dias and Michael Kolk. Performance majors from UBC will perform an engaging showcase concert ahead of their individual end-of-year recitals. This event is free for the public. We recommend a door donation of $5 to help us offset venue rental costs, but all are welcome regardless.
The 33rd Annual Northwest Guitar Festival will be in Victoria, BC from March 20th-22nd, 2026.
The festival will include adult and youth competitions, workshops, guitar orchestra, a luthier expo, and concerts by Leonela Alejandro (2024 GFA winner), Michael Partingon (WA), Robert Wang (BC), and Marsello Avilez (AB).

The Rogue Folk Club presents Christine Tassan et les Imposteures, a celebrated gypsy jazz and swing band.

The Erato Ensemble presents Heritages, a concert by Luis Angel Medina. Luis is an accomplished performer and a driving force in Vancouver’s classical guitar community. He is founder and director of the Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival and a guitar instructor at Capilano University. Known for his deep musicality, technical mastery, and exquisite sound, Luis brings all of this to a concert featuring the works of Julio César Oliva, Dale Kavanagh, Manuel Ponce and Mauro Guiliani.
The Vancouver Recital Society presents Raphaël Feuillâtre. Raphaël was born in Djibouti, on the northeastern coast of Africa, raised in Western France and studied at the Conservatoire de Nantes and later at the Paris Conservatoire. He made his international breakthrough as the 2018 winner of the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America. Since then, Raphaël’s burgeoning career has taken him around the world, where he has dazzled audiences with his playing. In 2021, he performed for the Vancouver Classic Guitar Society.
