As one of the few celebrated festivals devoted to flamenco art outside of Spain, the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival nurtures flamenco’s hybridized roots in Sephardic, Persian, Gypsy and Indian cultures.
Flamenco Guitar Concert brings together two of Canada's leading flamenco guitarists for an evening dedicated to the richness and diversity of flamenco guitar.
Come enjoy a Saturday night filled with authentic Latin rhythms and flamenco at Moose's Down Under Bar and Grill on June 27th from 8pm onward! Be entertained by the energetic classical guitars and fiery violin of the up-and-coming flamenco trio Tango for 2 made up of Noah Ferrer-Palchenko, Gabriela Pimental and Cat De Mello. Traditional Chinese music is full of beautiful stringed instruments like the erhu, pipa, guzheng and zhongruan. Enjoy them all and more at The Night is Luminous with Stars, the closing concert of the Canadian Multicultural Arts Festival. The concert showcases a vibrant selection of traditional Chinese music performed by award-winning and talented musicians across different age groups.
The Vancouver Classic Guitar Society and the Vancouver Public Library invite you to the final Staircase Sounds concert of the season, featuring three of Canada’s - and BC’s - most talented classical guitarists, Adrian Verdejo, Michael Dias and Michael Kolk. Two of BC’s finest classical guitarists and teachers Simon Farintosh from the University of Victoria and Alec Pearson from UBC and Vancouver Academy of Music invite you a shared recital they are presenting on May 1st, at 7 pm at the Vancouver Academy of Music.
Performance majors from UBC will perform an engaging showcase concert ahead of their individual end-of-year recitals. This event is free for the public. We recommend a door donation of $5 to help us offset venue rental costs, but all are welcome regardless.
The 33rd Annual Northwest Guitar Festival will be in Victoria, BC from March 20th-22nd, 2026.
The festival will include adult and youth competitions, workshops, guitar orchestra, a luthier expo, and concerts by Leonela Alejandro (2024 GFA winner), Michael Partingon (WA), Robert Wang (BC), and Marsello Avilez (AB).

Our friends at the Vancouver Recital Society present guitar virtuoso Miloš! The Rogue Folk Club presents Christine Tassan et les Imposteures, a celebrated gypsy jazz and swing band.
Founded in 2003 by classically trained guitarist Christine Tassan, inspired by Django Reinhardt, the band has performed over 600 shows across Quebec, Canada, Europe, the U.S., and China, becoming a standout in the gypsy jazz scene.

The Erato Ensemble presents Heritages, a concert by Luis Angel Medina. Luis is an accomplished performer and a driving force in Vancouver’s classical guitar community. He is founder and director of the Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival and a guitar instructor at Capilano University. Known for his deep musicality, technical mastery, and exquisite sound, Luis brings all of this to a concert featuring the works of Julio César Oliva, Dale Kavanagh, Manuel Ponce and Mauro Guiliani.
