The 6th Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival, presented in collaboration with the VCGS and sponsored by Capilano University, is designed as celebration of classical guitar in the beautiful setting of Capilano University in North Vancouver. VCGFest is a unique opportunity for guitarists of all levels to join in masterclasses, workshops and a guitar ensemble, and for music lovers to be inspired by faculty concerts by Marc Teicholz, Michael Kolk, Louise Southwood, Jenny Press, Alec Pearson, David Sossa, Catherine Huo, Tejay Liao, Lucida Zhao, and Luis Angel Medina.

The Okanagan’s summer celebration of classical guitar is back! From July 10 to 13, the 4th annual Okanagan Guitar Festival returns to Kelowna with a beautiful weekend of guitar downtown and this year in West Kelowna. The festival offers a full program of concerts, masterclasses, and workshops that bring together guitarists of all levels, local audiences, wineries and internationally recognized talent including Daniel Bolshoy, Alec Pearson, Luis Angel Medina, Tejay Liao and Gwenyth Ageler. VCGS Guitar Ensemble Spring Concert
Time: 3:00 PM, doors open at 2:45 PM
Location: Pacific Spirit United Church, 2195 West 45th Avenue, Vancouver
After a season of rehearsals under the direction of Michael Kolk, our wonderful VCGS Guitar Ensemble is ready to perform for you in a program of classics by Bach, Satie, and Milan plus modern works by Aphex Twin, Thierry Tisserand and Akis Filios. You’ll hear Gymnopedie, Spanish Garden, Couleur Tango and Eight Little Corinthians in a Tub (!!). Plus, ensemble members will be presenting solos, duos, trios and a quartet to round out an afternoon of guitar exuberance.

Masterclass with Charles Hobson
