Secretarial & Financial Committee

Committed to helping the society run smoothly. Duties include minute taking, tracking volunteer hours & lists, artist correspondence, creating contracts and other administrative roles. Collecting funds & donations at events and tracking the financials of the organization. Secretarial & Financial roles are suited to those who are punctual, reliable, systematic and goal oriented. It doesn’t hurt to be good with numbers!

Publicity Committee

Responsible for making everything the society does visible to the public. Duties include posting on social media, creating/distributing physical promotional materials (posters, flyers brochures) and curating our mailing list/newsletter. Updating and keeping our website relevant is another important aspect. A strong publicity committee requires people who are creative with an eye for detail. Those who like reaching out to others and aren’t afraid to think outside the box will fit right in. Many roles in the publicity committee can be flexible in terms of working from home or who are unable to commit to certain scheduled hours.

Concert Committee

The concert committee handles the detailed work of executing VCGS concert events (I.A.S, E.A.S, fundraisers) smoothly. This requires organizing volunteer roles, coordinating artist logistics, communications with venues. The concert committee needs people who are reliable, routine oriented and keen on making sure details are not over looked.

Outreach Committee

Our Outreach committee serves a similar role to the concert committee but is focused on VCGS outreach events. Outreach committee will help make sure open-mics, masterclasses, and other outreach events run smoothly. Since VCGS does many outreach events each year, the outreach committee will play a more hands on role with setting dates and creating events from the ground up. Outreach committee members are people who are ambitious, hard working and excited to connect with their community.

Open Stage Committee

2 or 3 times a year VCGS holds open stage style events for our dedicated locals, both young and experienced. While these events are infrequent they require a lot of hands on work when they do occur. These roles are perfect for people who like to connect with other locals and who my not have enough time year round but still want to lend a hand when they can.
