Ignacio will be giving a masterclass on March 5th. Artist bio is listed below. The fee for this class is $75 for a 45-minute time slot or $50 for a 30-minute time. This fee goes directly to the artists. Please register for the class by filling out the form below. Please register by March 1st.

Ignacio Rodes’ Bio

First Prize winner of five international competitions, including the prestigious ‘Andrés Segovia’, ‘Francisco Tárrega’ and ‘José Ramirez’, Ignacio Rodes is internationally considered to be one of the best guitarists of his generation.

Since his brilliant debut at the Wigmore Hall (London) in 1986, he has been invited to perform at international festivals in most of the European countries, USA and South America. He has played in very prestigious concert halls including Alte Oper (Frankfurt), Alice Tully Hall (New York), Performing Art’s Center (San Francisco), Great Philharmonic Hall (St, Petersburg), Chopin’s Museum (Warsaw), Palau de la Música (Barcelona), Auditorio Nacional (Madrid), Sala Nezahualcoyotl (Mexico), Opera Theatre of Cairo, Contemporary Arts Center (Ankara), Ho Chi Minh Opera House, Vietnam…

He has appeared as soloist with the English Chamber Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfònica de Barcelona, Hartford Simphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg Hermitage Orchestra, Orchestre de Picardie, Real Filarmonía de Galicia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Orquesta Sinfónica de Antalya, Ho Chi Minh Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta del Palau de Les Arts Valencia and Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. Discography includes five Cds, published by Opera Tres, Fundación de Música Contemporánea and EMI Classics.

He has conducted master classes at conservatories like Manhattan School of Music (New York), Mannes School of Music, (New York), Bloomington School of Music (Indiana University, USA), University of Washington (Seattle, USA), Yale School of Music, The Boston Conservatory, North Carolina School of Music, California State University, Houston Fine Arts Center, Conservatorio Nacional de Mexico and Cairo Conservatoire (Egypt) as well as many other Spanish and European music centers as Guildhall School of Music (London), The Royal Danish Academy of Music, (Denmark), Sybelius Academy, (Finlandia). He is professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Alicante and academic director of the Master in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Alicante.
