Are you guitar-curious? Maybe you’ve been thinking about trying something new. Maybe you’ve been looking to dust off that old guitar that’s been sitting in the closet for years. This event is for those who have been thinking about picking up and learning guitar.

Join us for our first-ever, 45-minute, fun and informal session at Tapestry Music (4440 W 10th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6R 2H9).

This event is FREE and open to all ages. If you are just thinking of starting guitar or even just wondered what it was like to hold one and pluck a few strings. Come join us.

No previous guitar or music knowledge is necessary to join! You do not need to own an instrument, Tapestry will kindly provide our group with beginner instruments to use for the hour. Your instructor for the event will be VCGS’s own Alec Pearson. He will show you the basics of holding and playing the guitar. Alec enjoys a busy career teaching and performing in Vancouver. In addition to be the chair of the VCGS, he teaches guitar at UBC, the Vancouver Academy of Music and is the Okanagan Guitar Festival director.

Please note that admission for the concert is ticketed. Seating is limited and Contributions start at $10. All funds raised will go to help UBC Students study at the Okanagan Guitar Festival in the summer.
