The 5th Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival, presented in collaboration with the VCGS and sponsored by Capilano University, is designed as an intensive learning experience in the beautiful setting of Capilano University in North Vancouver. VCGFest is a unique opportunity for guitarists of all levels to participate in masterclasses, workshops, guitar orchestra, a participants’ concert and to be inspired by faculty concerts by Iliana Matos, Dr. Jeffrey McFadden, Dr. Daniel Ramjattan and Luis Angel Medina.

The second annual Okanagan Guitar Festival is a unique opportunity for guitarists and music lovers to immerse themselves in 4 days of concerts, master classes and workshops from July 6th-9th. The festival includes three outstanding classical guitar concerts headlined by festival faculty artists Daniel Bolshoy and Luis Angel Medina, Alec Pearson and harpist Vivian Chen, Kelowna’s own Alan Rinehart and flutist Christine Moore, Galina Jitlina with a youth ensemble, and Louise Southwood.

Join UBC School of Music students Noah Ferrera- Palchinski and Gabriela Pimental at 2:30 pm Sunday, June 11th at Tapestry Music for a fundraiser matinee full of surprises! You’ll hear Freestyle by Taalbi Brothers (from Breaking Bad), Johnny Guitar and Why Don’t You Do Right by Peggy Lee, El Paso by Marty Robbins plus works by Ernesto Nazareth, Norah Jones and Rodrigo Y Gabriella.
All ticket sales go towards supporting registration costs for this year’s Okanagan Guitar Festival. Tickets are from just $10.00 and include a video of the performance so if you can’t make it in person, you can still show your support and enjoy the video from home.

Join UBC School of Music students Cynthal Kishore and Christian Richardson for an hour-long matinee in an intimate setting. These accomplished young musicians (you’ve seen them opening at our concerts) will be playing some of the most celebrated repertoire in classical guitar: Capricho Arabe and Lagrima by Francisco Tarrega, Julia Florida by Augustin Barrios, Castles of Spain by Frederico Moreno Torroba, and Tango de Abril by Maximo Pujol. All ticket sales go towards supporting Cynthal and Christian’s registration costs for this year’s Okanagan Guitar Festival
